5 Ways to Make the Most of your Hunt

5 Ways to Make the Most of your Hunt

Scavenger hunts have always been a fun way to interact with others and support camaraderie, but we’ve moved past the limitations of pen and paper. Eventzee takes scavenger hunts to a whole new level by supporting worldwide events and new ways to interact with players. While Eventzee makes it easy to host your own scavenger hunt, it’s up to YOU to make it memorable. So if you’re considering putting on your own, here’s a few tips to get you started.

Consider Your Audience
The first thing you need to do is decide how you’re going to run your event and who you’re inviting. A smaller event will have different clues, themes, and setup than a worldwide event. When considering a worldwide event, you have to account for differences in culture and locations. Some clues may not be possible for people to solve if they’re in an area that doesn’t offer what you’re looking for. You want this to be fun for everyone, so don’t limit your players or else you may limit your hunt.

Themes
Themes can be a good way to make your Eventzee scavenger hunt cohesive for those involved. If you’re running an event for a special occasion such as a birthday party, baby shower, etc., it can take on those themes. If you’re running a more general event, themes such as “Colors”, “Household Items”, or “Around Town” can be fun for pretty much anyone, anywhere. Not only can themes help make your hunt unified, but they’ll also help the event stand out for certain groups and can be used as a learning tool.

Teams
The bigger the event, the more likely it is that you’ll want to use teams to curb the amount of clues you have submitted. You can easily turn a 100 person individual event into a 25 team event by allowing players to compete in teams. With Eventzee you just need to assign one person per group with a phone and create an account with the team’s name. Not only does this push players to work together, but will also help event admins have fewer submissions to approve.

Clues
The biggest part of a scavenger hunt are the clues, and Eventzee is no different. When coming up with clues, make sure they fit in your theme (if you have one) and are varied in difficulty. Too many easy clues and your attendees will be bored. Too many difficult clues and your attendees will be put off from doing them. Remember that the point of the hunt is to embrace social interaction, and friendly competition can be a great way to get people talking. Your clues should reflect the people hunting them: diverse.

Prizes
What better way to encourage people to climb the leaderboard than a little incentive? Prizes are a great way to take an event to the next level. Prizes can be employed in both smaller, local events,  as well as worldwide events to help raise awareness of your product, cause, or organization. If you want to run a promotional event, you can award trials or samples of your product. If you’re running a local event, your prizes can include local businesses that have donated gift cards or items. Sponsoring prizes is also a great option for businesses to get some attention in a fun, creative way that actively engages users.

Now that you have some ideas about how to start your Eventzee scavenger hunt, go out and make it happen! If you’re interested in hosting an Eventzee event, sponsoring an official Eventzee photo hunt or just curious about what we can do, check out www.eventzeeapp.com.
