CrimeCon Attendees Solve The Mystery With Eventzee Scavenger Hunt

CrimeCon Attendees Solve The Mystery With Eventzee Scavenger Hunt

In June 2021, the Eventzee team created and launched a special scavenger hunt for CrimeCon, a true crime convention in Austin, Texas. Utilizing Eventzee technology, Oxygen’s CrimeCon Challenge: The Hunt is On offered both in-person conference participants and virtual attendees the opportunity to test their knowledge of true crime, interacting with convention vendor booths or virtual spaces, and solving mysteries to win prizes!

There were two CrimeCon hunts attendees could join — the Austin hunt and the Virtual hunt. The former was for attendees at the in-person event in Austin, TX from June 4-6, while the latter was for those who had signed up for Virtual Access Badges

“We were excited to be part of an event as highly anticipated as CrimeCon,” said Craig Holland, CEO of Freeze Tag. “As fellow fans, our team enjoyed working with CrimeCon staff to create an event designed to engage true crime followers.”

Both hunts featured photo, video, text, and quiz challenges. They also featured QR Code challenges tailored to each event. Through text and quiz challenges, players were tested on shows in Oxygen’s roster, such as Cold Justice and Snapped, and also on more general facts relating to true crime. Many of these challenges also included clips from the popular shows using Eventzee’s video hosting feature.

Some text challenges also required players to unscramble certain true crime terms based on the challenge’s banner image.

Meanwhile, through photo and video challenges, players were invited to step into the role of detective, socialize with other attendees, and more. These challenges encouraged players to get creative and offered CrimeCon great content for sharing the convention’s experiences.

For those who love solving murder mystery puzzles, a special QR code game was created. Attendees were tasked with tracking down hidden QR code “fingerprints” hidden throughout the event space, or in digital spaces, in order to solve a fictional crime. As each code was scanned players were awarded “letters” in the My Badges section of the app. Each QR code revealed a new letter and players had to solve for the name of the culprit by unscrambling all of the letters.

Eventzee Tours Chicago with “Curious City Scavenger Hunt” Powered By WBEZ Chicago

Eventzee Tours Chicago with “Curious City Scavenger Hunt” Powered By WBEZ Chicago

We’re excited to announce that WBEZ, Chicago’s NPR news station  launched a virtual community engagement event using the Eventzee scavenger hunt app. Utilizing Eventzee technology, the “Curious City Scavenger Hunt: Chicago Eats Edition” guided competitors throughout Chicago while exploring new cuisines and neighborhoods.

The inaugural event was brought to life by WBEZ’s Curious City program, an ongoing news experiment that includes the public in the editorial decision-making process. Dubbed the “Chicago Eats Edition” the event itself featured 74 groups of challenges for players to complete from mid-August to mid-September. Each challenge group represented a Chicago community where players were tasked to find and interact with local restaurants to learn more about the area.

“The Curious City event is a prime example of the endless capabilities of our Eventzee application,” said Craig Holland, CEO of Freeze Tag. “The team at WBEZ took their event to new heights, and has offered us some great insight into future uses of the Eventzee platform.”

One of the key features of the new Eventzee app is the ability to group challenges together to be completed sequentially. The “Curious City Scavenger Hunt” made great use of this new feature for its month-long event. Within each group there were three challenges for each of the 74 communities throughout Chicago.

The first challenge included a rhyming clue to guess the name of the neighborhood. The second challenge asked players to take a selfie in front of a particular restaurant in the area. The third challenge required players to submit a question to WBEZ. The radio station plans on using these questions to follow up with reporting in various areas around Chicago.

WBEZ Chicago shared that the scavenger hunt was overwhelmingly successful, with 407 teams (both virtual and in-person) and more than 1,000 individuals who participated from across the Chicagoland area.

MHQ Bash FREE Public Scavenger Hunt!

MHQ Bash FREE Public Scavenger Hunt!

Our annual MHQ Bash usually includes an interactive scavenger hunt for attendees in Texas, but with the world in a bit of a different place a different plan is needed! Luckily the all-new Eventzee app is perfect for hosting virtual events in a safe (and fun!) environment.

We’re excited to announce that in connection to Munzee’s “Bash From The Past!” event we have a great opportunity to show everyone a more personalized event style! Join our weeklong virtual scavenger hunt which will be a walk down memory lane, as well as a look at the future of Eventzee!

Did you know Eventzee was first announced at the first MHQ Bash in 2014? All we had was a presentation and some screenshots, but we’ve come a long way since then. So be sure to join our hunt to see how far we’ve come!

Just download the NEW Eventzee app and use the code “BASH2020” to access this special hunt. Or scan this QR code using the Eventzee app to join quickly! Please note that if you haven’t already you will need to create a new Eventzee account to join. The previous version of Eventzee used Munzee accounts to login, but the all new version stands on its own.

Scan to play!

This event will be available until September 30 at 23:59 MHQ time. Per usual no screenshots will be accepted unless the clues ask for it. Please also note that since the new version of Eventzee is separate from Munzee, players will not be awarded additional Munzee points or badges as they did previously.

There are some challenges you can complete right away, and some that will be released daily in groups to further immerse you in each day’s theme. We’ll be awarding prizes to the top finishers, so make sure to submit your best photos, videos, and text challenges to rise to the top! As we’re anticipating a large amount of submissions, we may not be able to review everything — however, we will definitely review submissions from those at the top of the leaderboard once the event is over, to ensure that the final ranking for the prize winners is accurate.

Good luck and remember to have fun! We look forward to seeing all of you in the new Social sections of the app!

Freeze Tag Launches “Buffalo’s Most Amazing Race” Eventzee Scavenger Hunt With The Salvation Army

Freeze Tag Launches “Buffalo’s Most Amazing Race” Eventzee Scavenger Hunt With The Salvation Army

TUSTIN, CA, September 1, 2020 – Freeze Tag (OTC: FRZT), a leading creator of location-based mobile social games, launched a fundraiser project with The Salvation Army of Buffalo using the Eventzee scavenger hunt app. Utilizing Eventzee technology, “Buffalo’s Most Amazing Race” guided competitors throughout western New York in a safe, social distance adventure.

The annual event, which kicked off in late July, featured teams of two who competed from the safety of their cars in a scavenger hunt throughout Buffalo, NY. With a first-place prize of $1,000, contestants were eager to compete in the name of a good cause. Challenges within the app were based on art, history and exciting locations throughout the Buffalo area.

“We were excited to help The Salvation Army take their annual fundraiser to the next level,” said Craig Holland, CEO of Freeze Tag. “With the help of Eventzee they were able to present a state of the art experience that was interactive, safe, and fun for the whole family.”

The city-wide amazing race is one of the Buffalo Salvation Army’s biggest fundraising events of the year, but due to COVID-19 health concerns, plans had to shift. So, the committee re-invented the event into a COVID safe, socially distanced scavenger hunt event the whole family could enjoy.  Eventzee was able to offer not only a safe alternative, but through the new Eventzee app players were able to compete in a number of different challenge types including photos, videos, GPS locations, and more. All funds raised from the event support programs and services of The Salvation Army in Buffalo NY, which are needed now more than ever.

“We were thrilled to discover the Eventzee app in early June,” said Laurie Krajna, Development Director of The Salvation Army WNY Region. “ It allowed us to re-invent our fundraiser, as opposed to canceling it.  Due to the coronavirus, the funds raised from this event were crucial to our keeping programs and services available to those in our community in need.  The post- event survey showed that our participants want us to keep this component in future races.  It was fun, easy to implement, and really added to the event experience.”

The partnership with The Salvation Army is part of the Eventzee marketing program which gives companies the opportunity to engage with their clients in new and exciting ways through gaming. Companies can increase brand loyalty and offer virtual marketing promotions, incentives and competitions for a day, a week or even many months. Eventzee is also a unique fundraising tool, which allows clients to sell access to their mobile scavenger hunts with ease.
