Loveland Launches Sculpture Quest With Eventzee

Loveland Launches Sculpture Quest With Eventzee

The city of Loveland, Colorado launched their third virtual community engagement event using the Eventzee scavenger hunt app. Utilizing Eventzee technology, the “Loveland Sculpture Quest” has residents and visitors stopping by sculpture parks throughout the city.

Those in the area can download the Eventzee app and enter the join code “LoveArt” to participate in the ongoing event. The city has prepared Completion Prizes of a Sculpture Quest Sticker and One Free Adult Admission to the Loveland Museum Gallery. There are also larger prizes in 3 other categories, two of which involve Eventzee’s built-in Leaderboard and the User Media section for admins. The virtual event features QR code, photo, video, text, and quiz challenges. The last day of the event is Friday, November 12.

“We’re delighted that the city of Loveland has chosen Eventzee to highlight the beautiful and varied public artwork in their city,” said Craig Holland, CEO of Freeze Tag, “Loveland events are extremely well-designed and make good use of what Eventzee has to offer!”

Loveland’s first Eventzee hunt, “The Hunt for the Loveland Holiday Gnomes,” took place from mid November 2020 to January 1 2021. Unlike the current “Sculpture Quest,” which features permanently installed sculptures, “The Hunt” featured garden gnomes hidden by staff especially for the event.

“After the success of our Eventzee hunt last year, we’re excited to head into Fall with the all new Sculpture Quest,” said Chris Bierdeman, Tourism Group Sales Coordinator for Visit Loveland. “This is the first contest we’ve run with Loveland Art in Public Places, and this program is the perfect way for people to enjoy the sculptures as the season changes.”

6 Admin Tips to Running the Perfect Virtual Scavenger Hunt Event

6 Admin Tips to Running the Perfect Virtual Scavenger Hunt Event

With the current pandemic, it’s more important than ever to be innovative when it comes to running and hosting virtual events. While this new way of life may seem daunting, Eventzee has your back and we’re ready to help you host your most successful event. The following 6 tips will help you along your admin adventure and make the most of your virtual event!

Check on Your Players Real-Time to See Their Performance

See real-time engagement from players during your virtual scavenger hunt by viewing the dashboard within Eventzee’s admin tool. Decide if players need guidance and encouragement, but don’t worry about finding each group or player in person to do so. You can even reach out to players to help- but more on that later!

Offer Prizes and Promotions

One of the best ways to motivate people during your event is to offer them a promotion or prize at the end of their participation! This encourages people to push forward and complete all of the challenges to the best of their ability.

Many downtown and tourist associations, like Eventzee clients
Champaign Center Partnership of Champaign, Illinois, use virtual scavenger hunts to increase traffic in local shops and businesses. During these events, people are offered promotions and deals at these locations, and can receive prizes for visiting the most destinations during their visit.

Choose a Clear Winner and Avoid Ties

Leave the scoring up to us! While you’re running your event, you don’t need to worry about allocating points and breaking ties, unless you want to. Eventzee’s virtual scavenger hunt platform has built in techniques to make sure no players get the same score. For example, Quiz Challenges can be set up to award the most points to the person who answers the fastest.

Communicate Directly to the Players

Need to get in touch with your players? You don’t need to corral everyone in one room, or go around and talk to everyone individually. Eventzee allows you to communicate with players through announcements or you can send them a direct message through the chat feature.

Make Your Event Stand Out In All The Right Ways

Eventzee’s virtual scavenger hunt app offers the most challenge types compared to others on the market. Switch up your event by using various challenge types, and keep your players on their toes! CrimeCon, a true crime convention, utilized Eventzee’s virtual event tool at their event this past year to engage players in a different way. With the platform, they were able to engage their attendees, who were both virtual and in person, and test their knowledge of true crime! This app also allowed attendees to engage with virtual and in-person vendors and work towards solving mysteries to win prizes.

This may seem like a daunting task, but with the right tools and objectives, holding the perfect event can be a breeze. Our team has worked with brands and companies, both big and small and from a variety of different industries, to craft successful events that run via the Eventzee scavenger hunt app

To give you a head start on designing your next event, we’ve put a list together of some of our favorite challenge ideas from past events that are sure to get your teams working together in no time!

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

  • Start off easy! Have the group members gather together and take a selfie.
  • Have players search for people who have similarities to themselves. This can be similarities in their names, outfits, interests, and more!
  • Have a player tell a story to the group about something funny that happened to them recently! Submit a video of the story being told.
  • Take two team members and have them pretend to switch the roles they perform for the company! They can submit photos of themselves pretending to do the other person’s job. This is perfect to get players more familiar with others who work in different departments!
  • Have players get to know each other further by figuring out who’s worked at the company the longest! Snap a group picture of each team player holding up their start date in order of seniority.

Brain Teasers

  • One of these things is not like the other! Give the team a group of photos that have one similarity. See if they can choose from a set of multiple choice answers to guess what the similarity is!
  • Where, oh where, are you leading this team? Supply them with sneaky clues about a certain location in the office or campus and see if they can guess it right. Have them take a group selfie when they get there!

Get Active

  • Have the team members snap a picture of them doing a fun yoga pose in front of a nearby landmark!
  • Is it nice outside? Have the team members walk around outside and search for a tree that’s taller than the group’s tallest player!
  • Best place for a quick workout? Have group members do jumping jacks in a specific location!
  • Hide a QR code somewhere and the team a hint. The faster they find it, the more points they get!
  • How many dancers are on the team? Have each team member think of a dance move, put them all together, and submit a video of the new routine!

Knowledge is Power

  •  Is there a mathlete on the team? Have them complete a math equation, you choose the difficulty! Make it extra intense by giving 100 points for the correct answer, but take away 25 points for every wrong answer they submit! Using Eventzee’s exclusive Quiz bonus timer, the fastest person with the correct answer will earn the most points!
  • Do your employees know everyone in the company? Show them a photo of someone they may know and have them try to guess the person’s specific role from a few multiple choice answers!
  • Does your company supply products with specific features? Give the team a hint and see if they can figure out which product you want them to guess!

Company Loyalty!

  • Supply the team with some sidewalk chalk and have them draw the company logo. Hopefully this can be done by memory!
  • Do you have company colors, a company mascot, or other branding that your colleagues should know? Have the teams jot it down!
  • How well does the team know your company values? This task can be a multiple-choice answer where they have to choose the one that does not belong!
  • Which team has the most company SWAG? Have them gather up their SWAG items and take a picture, then you can award bonus points to the group with the most impressive stack!
  • Become part of the sales and marketing team! Have the players pick a product or service that your company provides and make a poem or song promoting it! Submit a video of the performance.

4 Reasons Virtual Events Help Augment Marketing Programs

Planning a virtual event for your business can seem like a daunting task, but with Eventzee’s custom scavenger hunts, we make event planning and execution a breeze.

It’s no secret that smartphones have become an active part in all of our lives. With the Eventzee scavenger hunt app, your customers can engage with your brand or business through their phones. Custom virtual events that are completely branded to your organization’s needs are a perfect way to help market your business.

1. Drive Revenue From Engaged Customers

Scavenger hunts are one of the best ways to get people out and exploring their surrounding areas. Driven by prizes and the goal of winning the competition, this friendly challenge encourages participants to visit new shops, cities, businesses, and more.

Recently, SenArt Films launched a movie premiere event using the Eventzee scavenger hunt app. The “Lust For Gold Treasure Hunt” had moviegoers stopping by landmarks and businesses throughout Tucson Arizona’s Mercado District. With prizes like $1,000 in cash, hiking gear, and more, this event quickly had teams engaged, exploring the city like they may never have before.

This hunt was free for the players to join, and they did not need to purchase a ticket to the film premiere later that day. The hands-on experience of a real world treasure hunt boosted exposure for the film and led to increased interaction with shops and restaurants around the city.

2. Obtain New Social Media Content

Let’s be honest, in the era of social media authenticity is celebrated. Stock photos may work for websites and brochures, but what’s better for your brand’s social channels than photos of your real customers enjoying themselves?

In one of Houston’s latest pop-up restaurant sensations, the Rusty Krab is an immersive, Spongebob-inspired dining experience, engaging people of all ages. The restaurant has daily activities, including a unique Eventzee-based scavenger hunt. In a location that’s already geared towards photo ops, the Eventzee virtual scavenger hunt guides players through tasks to have them pose and post their results to earn points. All scavenger hunt photo ops make for great social media posts and based on the challenge description you can get the exact content you’re looking for.

3. Increase Online Presence with Local News and PR Coverage

Another benefit of hosting events for your brand is the local news and PR coverage for your brand. Spreading the word about your event also increases brand visibility, aside from traditional marketing. By hosting an event that is free and open to the public you can raise awareness about your product or service through unique and innovative ways.

4. Increase Brand Loyalty

Finally, one of the biggest goals of every company is to gain and retain customers. Events are one of the best ways to create long-lasting bonds with your customers that will keep them coming back, even after the event has ended.

Having just recently launched their second Eventzee-based virtual event, Barnes Harley-Davidson utilizes the virtual scavenger hunt app software to engage their customers. Riders participating in the Squad Wars: Coast to Coast use the app to work in teams, visiting locations, landmarks and businesses throughout the U.S. and Western Canada.

The best part, the squads that end up ranking in top positions on the leaderboard when the event is over are awarded with custom squad helmets, custom squad jackets, and more.

Squad Wars: Coast to Coast is the perfect example of using company branding to host events, making it fun and memorable for customers to engage, even after their latest purchase or visit.

It’s never been easier to have a fully customizable tool, that’ll allow people to gain a true connection to your brand. Engage with your customers in new and exciting ways through gaming programs using the Eventzee platform. Increase brand loyalty and offer virtual marketing promotions, incentives and competitions for a day, a week or even many months.

The Eventzee platform allows businesses to create private scavenger hunts in physical places such as malls, tradeshows, company events or campuses to create immersive brand experiences.  For more information about Eventzee, go to eventzeeapp.com or contact sales@eventzeeapp.com.

Utilizing Virtual Passports to Engage Tourists and Visitors in Your City

Utilizing Virtual Passports to Engage Tourists and Visitors in Your City

With vaccination levels on the rise, there’s no doubt that people have begun to travel more. In fact, studies show that over the fourth of July holiday this month, air travel levels reached record highs compared to pre-pandemic numbers.

While downtowns, both big and small, benefit from these visitors, making sure to engage those who choose to visit your destination is almost as important as getting them to come there in the first place. Small businesses, local restaurants, historic monuments and more, all benefit from an increase in activity.

SUMMERTIME ENGAGEMENT IN A COLLEGE TOWN

The city of Champaign, Illinois, for example, is an area that experiences the bustle of activity from its college-aged residents during the school year. During the summer-time, when those students travel home between semesters, there’s a brief lull in activity among the streets. However, with the local community coming out of the pandemic, Xander Hazel, Executive Director of Champaign Center Partnership, was eager to find a way to engage the local community and visitors to the area.

Their event, 13 Thursdays, allows businesses in the Champaign area to offer promotions and get people visiting local businesses and restaurants. Now hosted through the Eventzee Scavenger Hunt App, the Champaign Center Partnership team thrives in engaging their visitors and community.

“We highlighted all the business deals with QR code challenges (we call this the “business passport”) and included different types of challenges to provide fun scavenger hunt activities throughout the neighborhood,” said Hazel. “We also have giveaways throughout the summer to keep the momentum going and a grand prize at the end of the summer to encourage participation.”

The Eventzee scavenger hunt app is no doubt a fantastic tool when it comes to marketing your businesses and downtown areas, but it’s also a no-brainer when considering business logistics and environmental impacts.

PAST EXPERIENCE WITH PASSPORTS

Prior to using Eventzee, the Champaign Center Partnership team printed hundreds of business passports, or coupon books with advertisements, that businesses would physically stamp when people redeemed a deal. Oftentimes, people would forget their booklet and need a new one.

“We could give away 1,000 booklets, but we never knew how many people were actually using them,” Hazel said. “And then, we had to get the booklets back if people wanted to win prizes, so we had to take the extra step to establish drop-off locations. In 2019, the last year we did this promotion, we printed and distributed 1,000 booklets. Of those, we only got 6 booklets back.”

SUCCESS WITH EVENTZEE SCAVENGER HUNT APP DIGITAL PASSPORT EVENTS

Champaign’s experience with Eventzee’s scavenger hunt app has been much more successful this year. On top of reducing production and operation expenses, organizers were able to easily track player participation, communicate with participants in real time, and more. This year’s 13 Thursdays event has already seen greatly increased activity with almost 300 participants, and the versatility of challenge types has offered participants even more ways to play.

Whether looking to set up a citywide self-guided tour, drive traffic to historical areas, or increase visitor engagement for local vendors and businesses, Eventzee has a solution. The Eventzee scavenger hunt app platform is free for participants to download, and has the most challenge types offered on the market, including QR code scanning, GPS, photo and video upload, and more. Every Eventzee event is customized to the organization or company branding.

The Eventzee platform allows businesses to create private scavenger hunts in physical places such as malls, tradeshows, company events or campuses to create immersive brand experiences.  For more information about Eventzee, go to eventzeeapp.com or contact sales@eventzeeapp.com.

CrimeCon Attendees Solve The Mystery With Eventzee Scavenger Hunt

CrimeCon Attendees Solve The Mystery With Eventzee Scavenger Hunt

In June 2021, the Eventzee team created and launched a special scavenger hunt for CrimeCon, a true crime convention in Austin, Texas. Utilizing Eventzee technology, Oxygen’s CrimeCon Challenge: The Hunt is On offered both in-person conference participants and virtual attendees the opportunity to test their knowledge of true crime, interacting with convention vendor booths or virtual spaces, and solving mysteries to win prizes!

There were two CrimeCon hunts attendees could join — the Austin hunt and the Virtual hunt. The former was for attendees at the in-person event in Austin, TX from June 4-6, while the latter was for those who had signed up for Virtual Access Badges

“We were excited to be part of an event as highly anticipated as CrimeCon,” said Craig Holland, CEO of Freeze Tag. “As fellow fans, our team enjoyed working with CrimeCon staff to create an event designed to engage true crime followers.”

Both hunts featured photo, video, text, and quiz challenges. They also featured QR Code challenges tailored to each event. Through text and quiz challenges, players were tested on shows in Oxygen’s roster, such as Cold Justice and Snapped, and also on more general facts relating to true crime. Many of these challenges also included clips from the popular shows using Eventzee’s video hosting feature.

Some text challenges also required players to unscramble certain true crime terms based on the challenge’s banner image.

Meanwhile, through photo and video challenges, players were invited to step into the role of detective, socialize with other attendees, and more. These challenges encouraged players to get creative and offered CrimeCon great content for sharing the convention’s experiences.

For those who love solving murder mystery puzzles, a special QR code game was created. Attendees were tasked with tracking down hidden QR code “fingerprints” hidden throughout the event space, or in digital spaces, in order to solve a fictional crime. As each code was scanned players were awarded “letters” in the My Badges section of the app. Each QR code revealed a new letter and players had to solve for the name of the culprit by unscrambling all of the letters.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Launches Scavenger Hunt with Eventzee

Big Brothers Big Sisters Launches Scavenger Hunt with Eventzee

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass (BBBS Bluegrass) launched a fundraiser project using the Eventzee scavenger hunt app. Utilizing Eventzee technology, “Scavenger Hunt for Kids’ Sake” was the nonprofit’s first hybrid fundraising event, which allowed attendees at an in-person event to compete against those participating virtually.

The hunt continues the tradition of the “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” and “Golf Fore Kids’ Sake” fundraising events. Fundraising began in the weeks leading up to the hunt, which took place from June 4 to June 6. The in-person event was held at Red Mile Race Track, following all the recommended protocols to keep attendees safe. Teams were composed of 4-6 members, regardless of whether they were competing in-person or virtually, and they were given a 1-2 hour timeframe to complete most of the challenges. The event raised nearly $50,000 that will go directly toward supporting youth in Central Kentucky.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass is a prime example of how to utilize Eventzee as a fundraising tool,” said Craig Holland, CEO of Freeze Tag. “They were able to provide a fun, fresh event for their clients, and raise awareness about their great program. We’d love to have the opportunity to work with them on more events in the future.”

Challenges were organized into 5 groups. The first group was open to all teams before the hunt officially started, allowing them to prepare by providing info challenges about the event’s sponsors, encouraging them to follow the sponsors on social media via photo challenges, and allowing them to express themselves via text and video challenges. The remaining groups were allocated as follows: “In-Person Challenges”, which included QR Code challenges for eggs hidden around the track; “Virtual Challenges”; “Anywhere Challenges”, which were largely photo and video challenges that were skill- or creativity-based; and “Anywhere Trivia”, which consisted entirely of quiz challenges with either a “Big”, “Little”, or “Movie” theme.

“Eventzee provided an excellent experience for our annual event and helped us reach a larger audience than just in-person attendees,” said Afton Fairchild, Community Engagement Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass. “Eventzee’s staff was very responsive and thanks to them, Scavenger Hunt for Kids’ Sake went off without a hitch!”

The partnership with BBBS Bluegrass is part of the Eventzee marketing program that gives companies the opportunity to engage with their clients in new and exciting ways through gaming. Companies can increase brand loyalty and offer virtual marketing promotions, incentives and competitions for a day, a week or even many months. Eventzee is also a unique fundraising tool, which allows clients to sell access to their mobile scavenger hunts with ease.

Freeze Tag Launches Team Events With Eventzee

Freeze Tag Launches Team Events With Eventzee

We’re excited to announce we have officially launched a state of the art team event option for the Eventzee application! While in the past, event participants could potentially work as a team under a single Eventzee account, this worked better for in-person events. The extended functionality comes as a highly requested feature from clients, particularly those hosting team-building or ice breaker-style events.

“With virtual events, coordinating with team members in different locations and maybe even different time zones is already difficult,” said Craig Holland, CEO of Freeze Tag. “With the Eventzee Teams version, team members can be in different locations and still contribute to their overall team’s score.”

The main difference between Eventzee team events and regular events is that team events have extra Team Scoring options for event hosts to specify their requirements. Unlike some other scavenger hunt apps, each team member’s score can affect the overall team score in Eventzee team events, if the host chooses. Event hosts have the flexibility to require all team members to complete a challenge, just one team member, or any number in between. In addition, depending on the member requirement they chose, event hosts can specify whether they want only the top N or bottom N scores to count, or to have all the scores added together.

Utilizing Eventzee’s Team functions and white label program, Barnes Harley Davidson launched the exclusive Squad Wars: Coast To Coast app. This exciting, multiplayer, motorcycle riding experience has riders driving to landmarks and businesses throughout North America.

Event hosts also have the option to create teams and assign participants to them, or to leave it up to their participants to form their own teams. For the latter option, a minimum and maximum number of members can be specified so that teams must be within that range before they can start to work on the challenges. Regardless of which team-forming option event hosts choose, they always have the ability to create their own teams and move participants to different teams, if conflicts arise.

In events where participants are allowed to create their own teams, the team captains are given a Team Manager role which allows them full control over their members — they can invite, cancel invites, accept or reject join requests, promote to the Team Manager role, and remove. In addition, the Team area in the Social tab only displays messages from other team members, unlike regular events where the Chat is open to all participants. This private team chat allows team members to use the Eventzee app to plan, strategize, and coordinate their efforts.

Lust For Gold Film Launches Treasure Hunt With Eventzee

Lust For Gold Film Launches Treasure Hunt With Eventzee

SenArt Films will launch a movie premiere event using the Eventzee scavenger hunt app. Utilizing Eventzee technology, the “Lust For Gold Treasure Hunt” has moviegoers stopping by landmarks and businesses throughout Tucson Arizona’s Mercado District.

The hunt is free to join, but pre-registration is required. Interested parties simply need to follow the “Three Steps to Participate!” on Lust for Gold: A Race Against Time’s website. The virtual event features GPS, QR code, photo, video, text, and quiz challenges. Participants will get a great overview of the Mercado District, which should come in handy when it’s time to head to the Festival Grounds in the Mercado Annex, where the film will be screened. The hunt will take place on Sunday, April 18, between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.

“It’s an honor to be working with SenArt Films on the showing of their documentary,” said Craig Holland, CEO of Freeze Tag. “Hosting a treasure hunt prior to the film opening is a wonderful way to get the audience into the spirit of adventure captured in the Lust for Gold film.”

$1,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 participants or teams. The winners can expect to receive some combination of hiking gear, merchandise, gift certificates, and more. The film premiere will take place a few hours later, as part of the Arizona International Film Festival. Interested parties will need to purchase the $10 tickets via Eventbrite.

“We wanted to offer viewers of the film a hands-on experience by sending them out on a treasure hunt of their own,” said Hannah Gabriel of SenArt Films. “Eventzee’s wide selection of challenges are a perfect fit and setting up this one-of-a-kind adventure was easy using their tools.”

About Lust for Gold: A Race Against Time
Like the 1949 Columbia Pictures release of Lust for Gold, this present-day true story is about obsession, greed, and the hunt for gold. Boyhood dreams of treasure lead to a lifelong search when a retired missile scientist makes a monumental discovery and tempts fate for fortune as he hatches a secret plan to prove his claim. With his estranged son at his side, he secures an entertainment/personal injury lawyer who assembles a team –a retired blackjack dealer, a veterinary assistant, and a dog. The plan? To covertly remove gold bullion from within the most restricted area of Federal land deep within Superstition Mountain, Arizona. But the one risk greater than facing the unforgiving terrain and Federal prosecution is time.

The Feature Presentation is preceded by a Featurette, The Tomb, which follows the same team in their efforts to unearth a Jesuit Tomb said to contain millions of dollars of gold bars, jewels, coins and paintings.

Lust for Gold: A Race Against Time will have its premiere Sunday, April 18 as part of the Arizona Film Festival. Learn more at https://senartfilms.com/lust-for-gold/.
