Using the Eventzee scavenger hunt app, Regions Bank has concluded the launch of a month-long event. Utilizing Eventzee technology, the “Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month Scavenger Hunt” tasked Regions Bank employees and their families to learn more about Alabama’s indigenous history.

As a part of November’s Native American heritage month, participants learned about the important contributions of Alabama’s Native people. Players visited local heritage sites and discovered a mixture of family-friendly activities like cooking, crafts, and traditional games.

Using a Scavenger Hunt App to Share History

The event featured a number of challenge types to encourage active learning. Photo and video challenges invited players to participate in modern spins on native traditions like kayaking or joining a Powwow FIT cardio class. Players also tested their knowledge through trivia challenges, which featured questions about indigenous communities around the country.

This outreach effort was hosted by Regions Banks’ Diversity and Inclusion Coalition. Alabama’s indigenous history can be traced back more than 10,000 years, to the Paleoindian Period. The internal event was exclusive to Regions Bank employees using the Eventzee scavenger hunt app, and prizes included Regions jackets, just in time for winter weather.
